I had been to Prague before and asked Katerina to set up an off-the-beaten track tour. The historical references with the deep knowledge of Czech culture was truly special.
On Saturday, we went on a Literary and Cafe tour. Katerina choose cafes that were important to a wide variety of writers throughout Czech history. It was a day rich in culture, coffee, pastries and a deeper understanding of the layers of influences these writers, architects and artists had in history.
Katerina spent many hours preparing for this tour and she brought all of it to life. At each cafe she read an excerpt of poetry, prose or showed art that related to the cafe and time in history.
This tour is great if you a new to Prague, have been to Prague many times or even if you live there. It was the highlight of my trip.
As two architecture buffs, we wanted to take an architecture tour of Prague and wanted something more informative than the usual “tourist” tours with huge groups of people. Katarina was our guide, and she was incredibly knowledgeable and very dedicated to showing us the beautiful Jewish Quarter, learning all about the history and significance of the area, synagogues and museums. Given that one of us is Jewish and the other Catholic, she did a brilliant job making sure that we both got the level of detail and background required to keep us both equally engaged. The tour was the highlight of our trip, giving us many memories and great knowledge of a very special city.
